Where Grace Abounds
Hello friend,
I would like those who visit this website to know that it was created especially to tell you more about the book I wrote, my life story. Where Grace Abounds, the title of the book suggest it is just another Christian book. Although God’s grace has been the driving force of my life, my life story transcends the narrow focus of a religious and provincial lifespan. Those of you who are not of my faith should not turn away from my book because my life was not an ordinary life. It is full of stories of adversity and privation especially when I lived in countries which were far from home and among people whose way of life was so different to what I was familiar with.
I was born and grew up in an insular little town in a postage sized island set in a vast ocean and never dreamed I will ever leave there, but unexpected circumstances led to travelling the world in pursuit of better education or for better career prospects. So, at the age of ninety when I should be accepting a quiet and reflective life I decided to share my story with others. It has been challenging but I am convinced that those who read my story will find it interesting and may I hope inspiring.
An ebook and print book are being promoted through this website. The website will tell you about who I am and give a description of the content of the book. The books will be available for purchase from many vendors such as Barnes and Noble, Apple books, Kobo, Smashwords, Angus and Robertson, Amazon and others. There will be an eBook and paperback print book at affordable prices.

Many times, she faced enormous challenges but came through much stronger because of God’s grace. All honour and glory to God. This is a story of a long and fruitful life.
Book Description
Some may think that autobiographies are boring and so may not want to read them, especially if it is about someone who is not famous. I can assure you that Where Grace Abounds is not a typical story. It is the story of a woman born in a small remote island in the Indian ocean to an average family but succeeded in moving from her parochial background to go places, earn two post-graduate degrees in two different and distant countries, and lived in diverse cultural settings, as student and teacher, and then entered the world stage as an academic and achieve recognition.
But that is not all this story is about because during her life journey she experienced many challenges; first when she moved to England to further her education, accompanied by her husband and two very young children, to face loneliness and an unfamiliar way of life, as well as endure severe weather conditions and poverty. She also braved serious trials when she travelled to Australia for her doctoral studies leaving her family behind and living in student accommodation facing loneliness. She then took up teaching in Nigeria and went there without her husband but accompanied by her children to face a foreign culture and way of life, as well as scarcity of essential amenities, harsh and sweltering weather conditions. But through all the many changing scenes of life God’s grace sustained her and ultimately transformed her ordinary life into something remarkable. This book will interest all irrespective of age, ethnicity or faith.

Rev Wendell Flentje
Sushila's story, titled "Where Grace Abounds," revolves around four themes: faith, family, fruitfulness, and friendship.
Faith: Above all, Sushila’s life is a testament to her unwavering faith. She attributes her many blessings and the ability to overcome numerous challenges to the incredible grace of God.
Family: Growing up in a Christian home with loving, faith-filled parents was a privilege for Sushila. Her parents’ hopes and prayers were fulfilled when she married Ariam, a supportive husband of nearly 57 years. Their three children and numerous grandchildren reflect the faith and wisdom passed down through generations.
Fruitfulness: Sushila has a multitude of gifts and has used them well. She has had a distinguished academic career and has been continuously involved in her church and community. Even at 70, she was an elder, Bible study, and worship leader, and continues to serve.
Friendship: Sushila values the gift of friendship, maintaining relationships with people worldwide. Her strength and commitment to keeping up with friends, despite the challenges of aging, are remarkable.
The book contains many “pearls of wisdom,” particularly Sushila’s reflections on God's influence in her life. Despite the loss of her husband Ariam and declining health, she maintains an inspiring and encouraging optimism and gratitude to God.
